An excerpt follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>On June 15, 1520, Pope Leo X issued the bull Exsurge Domine and named forty-one sentences that had been taken from Luther\u2019s<br>writings and which Luther was now to revoke.1 Not all quotations were correct, and the sentences were torn from their context.
